• CAA Notification Issued: The government issued a notification for implementing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), which makes religion a criterion for Indian citizenship for the first time.
• Agni-5 Missile Test: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted the maiden flight test of the indigenously developed Agni-5 missile, dubbed Mission Divyastra, which features Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology.
• Oppenheimer Triumphs at Oscars: “Oppenheimer” won seven awards at the 96th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director for Christopher Nolan, Best Actor for Cillian Murphy, and Best Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr. Emma Stone won Best Actress for “Poor Things.”
• Nitin Desai Honored Posthumously: Renowned art director Nitin Desai was honored posthumously at the 96th Academy Awards for his work in films like “Lagaan” and “Jodhaa Akbar.”
• Dwarka Expressway Inauguration: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Haryana section of the Dwarka Expressway in Gurugram, India’s first elevated highway.
