• Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections
  • Chhattisgarh recorded a voter turnout of 70.87% amid incidents of violence, including an IED blast and an exchange of fire between Maoists and security forces, during the first phase of Assembly elections. Mizoram also commenced its 40-member Assembly polls.
• New CIC Chief
  • Heeralal Samariya was sworn in as the chief of the Central Information Commission (CIC) by President Droupadi Murmu, marking a new leadership era for the CIC.
• Indian Women’s Hockey Team Triumph
  • The Indian women’s hockey team won the Women’s Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2023, defeating Japan 4-0 in the final and reclaiming their title.
