Major Radhika Sen was Honored with the UN Award

• Major Radhika Sen, who served with the United Nations peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, will receive the prestigious 2023 Military Gender Advocate of the Year Award for her advocacy of women’s and girls’ rights.

Record-Breaking Heat in Delhi

• Delhi recorded its highest-ever temperature at 52.3°C, breaking the previous record of 49.2°C set in 2002.
• This temperature is more than nine degrees above the expected norm.

Satyadeep Gupta’s Mountaineering Feat

• Indian mountaineer Satyadeep Gupta became the first person to scale both Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse twice in one season.
• He also set a record by traversing from Mt. Everest to Mt. Lhotse in 11 hours and 15 minutes.

Indian Arm Wrestling Team’s Success

• The Indian contingent won seven medals (one gold, six bronze) at the 2024 Asian Arm Wrestling Championship in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Successful Test of RudraM-II Missile

• India successfully test-fired the RudraM-II anti-radiation supersonic missile from a Su-30MKI fighter jet.
• The missile was developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
