- India’s Victory in T20 World Cup 2024: India defeated South Africa by 7 runs in the final match of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Kensington Oval, Barbados, clinching an ICC title after 11 years. Virat Kohli was named Player of the Match, while Jasprit Bumrah was awarded Player of the Tournament.
- Virat Kohli’s Retirement from T20 Internationals: Following India’s T20 World Cup win, Virat Kohli announced his retirement from T20 Internationals. He finished his career with 4,188 runs in 125 matches, averaging 48.69.
- Rohit Sharma’s Retirement from T20 Internationals: India skipper Rohit Sharma also announced his retirement from T20 Internationals after leading the team to its second World Cup in the format. Rohit leaves T20Is with 4,231 runs from 159 matches, including five hundreds and 32 fifties.
- Indian Women’s Cricket Team Sets Test Record: The Indian women’s cricket team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, made history by scoring 525 runs for the loss of four wickets on the opening day of a Test match against South Africa. This is the highest number of runs scored in a single day in Test history, for both men and women.
