• The newly built International Diamond Bourse in Gujarat’s Surat has taken the title of the world’s largest office building, surpassing the Pentagon. Surat is renowned as the gem capital of the world, where over 90 percent of the world’s diamonds are cut.
• Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the integrated terminal building of Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair, through video conferencing.
• Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy passed away at the age of 79. Chandy was the Chief Minister of Kerala twice.
