Aditya-L1 Mission Announcement

ISRO has announced that Aditya-L1, India’s first space-based observatory to study the sun, will be launched on September 2. The spacecraft will be placed in a halo orbit around the Lagrange point 1 (L1) of the sun-earth system, located about 1.5 million km from Earth, taking over 120 days to reach its destination.
